Structural engineering design and modeling services were provided for this three-story Georgian Style 77,500 gross sq. ft. Bachelor Enlisted Quarters (BEQ). The structural system consists of conventional reinforced concrete footings which are supported by exterior/interior CMU walls and isolated spread (pad) footings support the interior steel columns. The floor/roof framing consists of precast concrete planks with concrete fill spanning between interior CMU walls. The planks turn direction and span between corridor CMU walls along the corridors. The BEQ includes 150 rooms with semi-private bathrooms, walk-in closets and ceiling fans. Community and service core areas consist of a passenger/freight elevator, laundry facilities, lounges, administrative offices, housekeeping areas and public restrooms.
